Chill Capy — Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 16, 2026
Chill Capy ("the app") is a virtual-pet game published by Chinese Powered ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles and by whom. The short version: we run no servers and hold no account data. The only data collection comes from the advertising and purchase services described below.
Data stored on your device only
Everything the app remembers — your capybara's name and stats, coins and gems, streaks, quests, achievements, cosmetics and decorations, your friends list from playdates, and your settings — is saved in the app's local storage on your device. We never see it; it is not uploaded anywhere by us. Deleting the app deletes this data. (It may be included in your phone's own device backups, which follow your Apple or Google backup settings.)
The app has no accounts and no sign-in. Playdates are device-to-device: your "Capy Code" is generated on your phone and only ever shared when you choose to show the QR code or send the code yourself. It contains your capybara's name, look, level and streak — nothing about you — and it never passes through any server of ours.
Camera (QR playdates)
The camera is used for exactly one optional feature: scanning another player's Capy QR code on the Friends tab. Scanning happens entirely on your device; no photos or video are captured, stored or uploaded. The app only asks for camera permission when you tap "Scan a friend's QR", and the same code can always be typed or pasted instead.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob: rewarded videos you choose to watch (for bonus coins, gems or energy) and an occasional brief interstitial after mini-games. Chill Club subscribers see no interstitials. When an ad is requested, Google's SDK may collect device information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from it, and ad-interaction data, used for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention.
- Consent: where required (EEA/UK), Google's consent form is shown before any ad is served. Without consent, ads are non-personalized.
- On iOS, the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission shortly after first launch. Ads use your device's advertising identifier only if you allow it there, and you can change your mind any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Where the consent form applies, the app's own Settings screen carries an "Ad privacy options" row that reopens it.
- Details: Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data in AdMob.
Purchases (App Store / Google Play + RevenueCat)
Payment for the Chill Club subscription and gem packs is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details. To validate purchases and keep your Chill Club membership working (including "Restore purchases"), the app uses RevenueCat as a service provider. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and a random per-install identifier — not your name, email or payment information — and processes them on our behalf. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the app schedules local, on-device reminders: a gentle care nudge, a streak reminder when a streak of three days or more is at stake, and a single "the onsen misses you" note after a few days away. Notifications are opt-in during onboarding, can be turned off any time in Settings, and no push-notification server is involved.
Analytics
The app contains no analytics SDK. We do not track how you play.
Children
Chill Capy is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices
- Ad personalization: your device's advertising-ID settings, plus the consent form where it applies (iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking).
- Camera: deny or revoke the permission in system settings — playdates still work by pasting a Capy Code.
- Notifications: turn them off in the app's Settings screen, or in your device settings.
- Subscription: manage or cancel in your App Store / Google Play account settings.
- All local data: "Reset everything" in the app's Settings screen, or delete the app.
Changes
If a future version changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the date above revised.
